Happy Fourth of July Everyone!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful day celebrating the birthday of the great United States of America! We enjoyed the day swimming and grilling with our family and are now home relaxing for the evening. To all of you partying it up, be careful with the fireworks!

Why Sassy?

Well, I began this blog 2 years ago. While I have a lot to talk about, I just haven't jumped into the life of blogging! I love stalking blogs of all kinds...especially momma blogs and crafting blogs. Perhaps this little blog will become a nice combination of both.

Since so many of you have asked (by so many, I mean no one) why I chose the name One Sassy Momma, this is a little explanation. I am sassy and I am a momma, so there you go! I have had a sassy mouth for as long as I can remember. When my dad was teaching me to drive my first car, a 1985 stick-shift Nissan Sentra, he gave me a driving test before I could drive to school. We set off to do some practicing that included stopping and starting on hills. He had a little notepad to write down the things I needed to work on. His list included "sassy mouth" by which he had many tally marks. Needless to say, I learned to drive the stick-shift before I learned to control my sassy mouth!

So there you have it, a little background on the title of my blog and what I hope to share here. Maybe I will update again before 2013...

The Best of Both Worlds

Sometimes, I feel like Miley Cyrus/Hanna Montana (without the fame and fortune). I have the best of both worlds. Being a teacher, I get to have time off to be with the kids, while working and having adult interaction! I love having summers off to play with the kids (read hang out on the computer), keep the house clean (read catch up on facebook), cook healthy meals (read check out my favorite ebay sellers), and have all of the laundry done (read take a nap)! Alright, so I am not SAHM material. I will never be June Cleaver and I am okay with that! My kids are happy, fed (goldfish count, right?), and taken care of. The house gets wrecked, but that is a sign of having a good time. I will eventually get the dishes done, the Hotwheels out of the middle of den, and scrub the soap scum out of the tub and shower, maybe! It will all get done in time!

The World of Blogging

So, after much thought, I've decided to jump in to the world of blogging. I love reading blogs. It's like legally reading people's mail! I am all kinds of nosey, so getting a glimpse into strangers' lives is right up my alley! Now, I've got to decide just what kind of blog this will be. Will is be a traditional "mommy" blog where I tell all about my wonderful children and how smart and talented they are? Will it be a commedy blog where I tell my life stories with a comedic twist? Will I share my policital and religious views with you? Who knows! Perhaps this will be a combination of all of these things. You will have to check in to see!
